ACT scoring guide
The ACT reports four section scores from 1–36, and then combines three of them into your composite. That rule matters more than most students expect.
Under ACT's current rule, the composite is the average of English, Math, and Reading, rounded to the nearest whole number. Science is optional and does not change the composite — but some colleges and scholarships still ask for it.
